365: AIGA’s Year in Design Award
Celebrating a win for Netflix
We are thrilled to announce that our recent work for Netflix Studios in Albuquerque has earned a 2024 Year in Design Award from the American Institute for Graphic Arts. The project joins 31 other winners, chosen from 348 entries across 18 countries. Asterisk is the only Texas-based firm to have won this year.
With a nod to the Studio’s New Mexico location, these installations celebrate the tradespeople — hair and makeup, costuming, set construction, and lighting artists — whose work creates on-screen magic and ensures audiences see, believe, and feel the stories that matter. By transforming their everyday tools into large-scale installations, the series spotlights the craft and skill of those whose names are typically tucked deep into the production credits.
Standing ovation to the Netflix facilities and construction team, fabrication partners DCL, and all the craftspeople whose materials and talents inspire our own love of getting the details right.
