UT Dallas’ Arts District
Grand opening + ground breaking
We had the privilege of joining university leaders, project donors and supporters, and the architectural and construction teams to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum Arts and Performance District. This new 12-acre cultural gateway will serve as a cornerstone for The University of Texas at Dallas campus. Once completed, the district will feature two museums, a performance hall and music education building, and a grand plaza.
The first phase of the project unveiled The Trammell and Margaret Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas. Designed by Morphosis, the museum is a stunning addition to the campus, presenting innovative Asian art exhibits and select pieces from the Dallas Museum of Art. The Crow Museum's original downtown location in the Dallas Arts District remains open.
Following the museum’s opening, the second phase — a 680-seat performing arts center and music education building — was officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony. We are honored to contribute to the district’s development through site and building signage, wayfinding, donor recognition, and the design of the Athenaeum’s visual identity.
